Have you ever been at a place in your life where you feel fake, inauthentic?
You feel like you are fulfilling roles or labels that other people have for you: multitasking Mother, powerful CEO, detail-oriented accountant, charismatic sales person, the son that is always there for you.
And while these roles may have been something you did want to do for a moment, or a while; and while you did enjoy some of your accomplishments, does it now just feel like a really long ride at the amusement park that isn’t fun any more and you just want to get off?
But you can’t let your boss, your partner, your husband, your kids, or your parents know this. Because that are counting on you to show up for them. And it’s not that you want to ditch these roles all together, but something just has to change. You feel drained and unhappy.
And as you keep showing up, a little piece of something inside of you dies, because it feels like every moment you spend living this version of life takes you away from the joy of living the life you were meant to live.
Now, if only you knew what that was. You have this stirring or feeling inside of something more, but you can’t quite put words to it.
Discovering the True You is kind of like finding that perfect outfit that you feel like a millions bucks in. When you are shopping, you may have an idea of what it is, but it isn’t until you start looking and trying things on that you know which one is the right one.
You may go to a dozen stores, trying on a bunch of things.
The first outfit may look a lot better on the rack than it does on you.
The next few may not be quite the right colour or right style or best fit.
And while you may be getting discouraged, Don’t. This “trying on” process is a very important refining process. You are getting closer and closer to knowing what you want.
And then there is that store that you wouldn’t normally go into, but something catches your eye and this little voice nudges you to go in.
And the person who greets you is dressed to the nines. Her hair looks beautiful, her outfit flatters her every curve, yet what strikes you most is that she is comfortable with who she is.
She approaches you and offers help and there is something inside that just makes you want to throw yourself at her because you are so tired of this searching, there’s this ominous deadline approaching- the wedding, the presentation, the trip, whatever. And you’re just tired of trying to figure it all out. Tired of searching.
But you hold it together, and review again what you are looking for.
This time it is a different experience.
She sizes you up and asks you lots of questions and before you know it, she’s filled the change room with half a dozen outfits to try on.
You gulp.
As many of these things are totally out of your comfort zone, in so many ways.
Yet, you try them on. One by one.
A few you could never see yourself wearing.
However, the other two are the right colour, a little edgier style than you are used to, but it just feels so good.
Sigh… the last one that you like the most just doesn’t fit right.
But she expertly looks at you and the material and with a few magic pins, tucks a little here and raises the hem a little.. then all of the sudden…
You feel like a millions bucks.
This is what you’ve been searching for.
You didn’t even know it existed or how you would find it.
Yet here it is.
The True You.
Elegant, comfortable, confident, and sexy.
And it simply took someone seeing your potential and you having the courage to try on something new that allowed this possibility to come life.
The Connect to U sacred process is one path to discover the True You.
The question is, are you willing to try something new in your life, to help you discover the True You and maybe even your soul’s purpose?
