I believe that we’re all here to discover our true selves. And that every life experience is an opportunity for growth, expansion and a step closer to that truth. Sometimes we’re stepping into it. And sometimes we’re shying away from it. Whatever we do, we’re still getting a little bit closer to seeing it, hearing it, tasting it and believing it.
The opportunities for discovery show up in so many different ways. Our relationships, our health, our career, our education, our families and simply in our day to day lives. Sometimes the learning comes in the moment, and other times we “get it” days, months or years later, when we’re in the right frame of mind to appreciate the teacher in that circumstance.
When we’re able to let go of the hate, anger, frustration and lower vibrating emotions from those experiences, and open up to see the greater opportunity for self discovery – that’s when true growth and personal expansion begins. And we begin to be able to answer that question “Who Am I?”
So whether it’s a relationship that’s gone from bad to worse, or an encounter with a force of nature like a hurricane, it feels like it’s a journey through a decision of: who is going to create my reality- me or them. Because it is so easy to be a victim of your circumstance; to let obstacles continue to be your excuse of why things keep happening to you. Or to see those situations as growth opportunities, a chance to step up and step out of the box you’ve been living in and go beyond the conditioning that you’ve experienced in your life.
And the “work” is never done. We go through cycles of feeling like we’re unstoppable and then we take time to retreat back like the ebbs and flows of the waves in the ocean. And that’s o.k. It’s nature and simply reflective of the world that we’re living in – although it’s not necessarily our truth.
So be brave on this journey, with a certain level of compassion and gentleness too. For everyone we encounter is on the same journey, although their level of awareness may simply not be there. And who knows, perhaps you’re one of their great teachers to show them the way. So shine your truth on them, and let them see how easy it can be.
