It’s that time of year again, where everyone is sharing their New Year’s resolutions and goals. Perhaps a better thing to consider doing would be setting New Year’s Intentions, for me it just has more sticking power than a resolution or a goal… and you really need to have the intention behind your goals and resolutions figured out before you can truly be successful in achieving, well, anything. The trouble is, is that so many of us (me included) have to feel that we are WORTHY of living with intention and achieving our dreams. It takes courage. Do you have the courage to do what it takes?
Courage is a powerful and yet vulnerable way of being. It’s about standing in your truth, even when others may not have the ability to see your vision. It’s about believing in yourself 100%, even when your knees are shaking. It’s about stepping into things that you are afraid to do, yet you are so ready to taste what is on the other side of that wall of fear.
So many people tip toe around their dreams, because they are afraid of dip their toes into a place that may feel uncomfortable. Yet, it’s not until you step out of your comfort zone that you can truly grow.
So- what are your dreams? Your goals, your desires?
And more importantly what are your intentions behind those dreams, goals and desires?
The intentions that come from the heart and fuel your soul, are the most powerful intentions, which provide more momentum for your dreams to come true.
If you have a goal to earn $100,000 this year- that’s wonderful, but what is more powerful is that you have the intention of serving people and guiding them to reach their highest potential and as a result of that you earn $100,000 offering your services and products. Or, if your intention is to sponsor a new water system or a school for a remote village in a third world country, and that is part of the catalyst for that goal.
Do you see how your intentions give more meaning to your goals and dreams? Can you feel the increased energy behind that goal when you know the intention behind it?
It takes courage to take this extra step of setting your intention for how you want to live your life.
Why?
Because others have been programmed through their upbringing, magazines, news articles, TV shows and movies showing how things are “supposed to be”. And often times the greatest most beautiful intentions come from a place that goes against those beliefs. So it takes courage to stand in your truth and your beliefs to KNOW in your heart that your dreams CAN come true.
So…. Do you have the courage to believe in yourself and live with intention?
