I’ve come to the realization of a fact that I’ve “known” for some time.. and yet it’s just sinking in now. And that realization is that every single moment of our lives is a choice. And in each moment we have a choice of how to live our life and a lot of it is habitual. In fact, its probably mostly habits that no longer serve us that are ruling our life. So I’ve come to a point where I need to consider how to create new habits to live my life to the fullest. And I’ve realized that this can be done in 3 easy steps.
We can choose to focus on our dreams, or we can choose to focus on what’s not going “right” in the moment.
We can choose to take the time to create our vision and sit with our vision each day… or we can sit in “I don’t know land”: indecisive and not knowing what to do next or in the land of “I’m busy, I don’t have time for that” only get more of that reality presented at our feet.
I completely take responsibility for the choices I’ve been making and that I continue to make. I get that the moment I live now is the sum total of my previous efforts.. and that I’ve been sitting in “I’m too busy land” a little too much in the preceding weeks.
I’ve heard thoughts in my head about how “easy” it is to “be me” when I’m with colleagues and new friends, and it’s “hard” to be me and that I slip back into ways I don’t want to be when I’m with family or old friends. The truth be told, it’s easy to do something whenever I declare it is easy to do something.
Those other ways of being are just habits.
I can create new habits.
Habits that support the magnificent life I’m choosing to live. Do you like that?
That wording is in the present tense and boy does that statement feel good.
1. Focus your energy on what you’re creating
If our words and thoughts are truly our creations, then let’s choose to focus our creative energy on creating our dreams. Those creative moments come with EVERY breath, EVERY blink of an eye, not just when we set aside time to be creative. We ARE creative every moment that we are alive. It’s just that a lot of the times we are not consciously creating.
A lot of the time, we let other people’s reality set limits or influence what we see in our life. There is a remedy to this… it is…
2. Be aware of what’s really going on in your life
Become aware of what’s really stopping you. What or who is really influencing you. Is it the commercial that is telling you what you need to buy? Is it the recording of the voice in your head of your grade 3 teacher that laughed at you when you shared your dream? Or the sound of your mother getting hit when your father felt she stepped out of line.
Awareness is only available to you when you give yourself the gift to be…
3. Be Present
Presence in the moment. Presence with the sacred self that is your soul. Presence with the joy and magnificence that is already always surrounding you when you choose to see it.
Choose to focus on our dreams and the life that we choose to create. See everyone and everything for it’s true potential, so it can easily rise to that possibility, rather than feed it worry that it won’t work out. Because since we are incredible creators, that is the result we will see. Unless that person is holding their own vision for possibility and is choosing not to be swayed by our influence.
So, I invite you to consider how you choose to live your life. And really give yourself the time to sink into this conversation with your heart and soul. You can start by taking a moment longer getting out of bed tomorrow morning. Taking a few more minutes in the shower, or setting aside some special time to have a cup of tea and examine what you’ve been living and the magical life that’s really waiting for you.
It’s time to come out and play. (link to you tube video Step into the master creator role that you’re already starring in and take the lead. Walk into the life that you’ve dreamed of. The more you choose to live that possibility in your head and heart, the more you will see it become your reality before your eyes.
