As I stumble along this beautiful, winding path of life, I’ve come to realize something really important about me moving forward powerfully. It’s about speaking my truth and what that really means. Here’s what I’ve come to realize: Speaking my truth is about empowering and uplifting others, not putting them down. That is the Truth about speaking your Truth.
That’s HUGE.
It’s about standing tall and speaking out about what I’m passionate about- sharing my voice with others. And doing so in a way that gives other the courage to also speak their truth.
As I speak my truth, some people may begin to squirm and feel uncomfortable, if what I’m sharing is something in their life that they are out of integrity in, or if it bumps up against their personal beliefs. The key is that I don’t make them wrong for the choices they have made or are making. All of the many possible decisions people make creates variety in life, and a variety of contrasts.
We’re all human and just doing the best we can with what we’ve got in that very moment. The next day, next week or next decade we may make different choices…. and that’s simply because we’ve had some sort of experience that has changed our perspective. And we never know… that life changing experience could be the words that flow out of our mouth or the gesture that I make that shifts that person’s perspective.
Here’s the key to this truth: when I uplift someone with my sharing, I am raising their vibration to a place where they can see new possibility. When I put them down, for a choice they have made/are making, I lower their vibration to a place where they feel more constricted. They need to then come out of that place of constriction before they can really contemplate this alternative choice.
Our truth is based on love. I believe fundamentally that’s who we all are through and through. We just forget sometimes.. and that’s o.k. it’s part of being human. The ride is just more fun, and even a little faster, when we’re living from a place of expansion and possibility.
So as you flow through your day, consider the choices you make… your words, gestures, and actions. As my friend Theresa Campbell believes Your Life is Your Message. Be conscious of the message you are sharing as you are speaking your Truth.
