Feeling Angry, Frustrated or Sad? How to spring back from Low Vibrating Energy
Sometimes we create unrealistic expectations that we should be Happy ALL the Time. And then beat ourselves up for getting angry, feeling sad or frustrated. The reality is that these are all valid emotions to express. And having them is normal, but staying Angry, Frustrated or Sad for long periods of time isn’t necessary, and isn’t good for our overall mental health. Here are three tips on how you can spring back from low vibrating energy.
First, just to recap, feeling a range of emotions is good and human. It’s ok to feel these emotions sometimes. To express them and let them out. Experiencing contrast in life helps us to appreciate what we have and refine what we really want to have; how we want to live our life. So don’t beat yourself up if you feel you are on a spiritual journey and you are experiencing these emotions.
You can help yourself with shifting out of these emotions by shifting your focus using three easy techniques:
Breathe deeply.
The breath shifts our life force energy quickly and easily. A few deep breaths can change your energy pattern enough to calm you down, or bring you to a neutral place. This is the first thing I do with my clients when they are distressed about a situation. I walk them through a brief calming breathing meditation, to slow down and change their awareness.
Get outside.
Mother nature surrounds us fresh air and grounds us. If you can be barefoot on the earth, you’ll notice the shift in your energy much faster. It’s like our feet touching the earth (also known as grounding or earthing) connects us into Mother Earth’s energy, relaxing us, and reducing stress. In Japan they call the stress reducing practice of spending time in nature as shinrin-yoku, which is endorsed by Japan’s health organizations.
Get creative!
Whatever getting creative means to you, just do it. Whether it means playing an instrument, doodling, scrapbooking, cooking or photography, we shift the part of the brain being used when we get creative.
The intention of the above techniques is to shift the focus of your attention to invite you to let go for just a little while. And when you change your energy level or your vibration about a situation, you are able to witness it from a different perspective. And that is how you start to spring back from low energy. It doesn’t mean that you move from being angry to peaceful and loving in 5 minutes or even an hour. But you may be able to move from frustrated to neutral, and that is a step in the right direction.
