The sun is shining, the snow has melted and it feels like spring is finally here! Isn’t it incredible how the earth automatically knows how to wake up from it’s winter hibernation and burst into spring? In fact, we all have this inner knowing, of needing time for ourselves to truly bloom into our best and highest potential, and yet, we often put ourselves at the bottom of the to do list. Imagine what life could be like if you created time for you.
We all know what makes us feel good. And whether it’s 30 minutes for exercising, 15 minutes for meditating, 20 minutes to read, or 10 minutes to journal, you have the power to create that special time for you. It’s a matter of prioritizing.
Let’s face it, if the Doctor told you that you need to find a way to exercise for 30 minutes a day (or put another way, only sit down for 23 1/2 hours), for the sake of your health, would you do it? Maybe- depending on how severe the health issue is right?
Well, what if we could be in vibrant health, be happy in our relationships and love our career if we DID invest time every day for self care? Would that be worth the time investment?
My days are easy and effortless when I focus on my practice. If I’ve slept in and didn’t get to meditate, stretch and tune in, my day starts off sluggishly. I’m o.k as long as I take the time to meditate and take care of me during little breaks throughout the day. It’s what I need to do to be the best me possible.
So if you are reading this article, consider this your invitation to schedule time every day for self care. Create this positive habit and you will see transformational changes in ALL areas of your life. There is no magic bullet for how to do this. It really is as simple as declaring you are worth it and setting aside the time every day to nurture you.
