The month of December is often a stressful time of year. Strained relationships, stretched budgets, too much to do- it takes away from the essence of the season. Here are 5 tips to help you manage your energy and soulfully enjoy the holiday season
Take time for you when the energy feels overwhelming- get a breath of fresh air, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths
Eat and Drink what Nourishes you – before a single morsel enters those lips, ask yourself “do I really want to eat this?” If you get a yes, as you are savouring every single taste on your palate ask your body “on a scale of 1 to 10 how much am I enjoying this?” If it’s not a 9 or more, then stop eating any more of it!
Be fully present when you or others are opening presents! It’s not a race. Delight in the time the person investing in choosing that gift. Watch the expression on the person’s face as they open up their gift. This is the reason why we give gifts- it’s the intention behind them- enjoy that magical moment
Remember people are just human – There is a full moon on Christmas Day, so people may be more goofy than normal. Remember everyone is human and is experiencing the moment (including you), so take a moment before you react to something- that pause can be all that is needed to keep things calm and in the spirit of the holidays.
Be Joy- remember the true spirit of the season- let that come first before anything else- about the way things Should Be or if something isn’t perfect. As long as there are good intentions and you’re happy with that- it IS perfect 🙂
