HELP! My son, his wife and 2 year old daughter are living with us. For the last 2 months my grand daughter has not been sleeping well. Going to bed late, Getting up in the middle of the night, crying or crawling into bed with me or my daughter. We’re all exhausted. My daughter-in-law has done her best, and has even tried asking her doctor for suggestions on what to do. The advice is to lock my grand daughter in her room and let her cry it out, which just feels wrong.
What can we do to change things so we can all get a good night’s sleep?
Signed, Sleepless for too many nights
Dear Sleepless for too many nights,
I feel the frustration and exhaustion in your home. My prayers are with you.
As I tune in to the energy of your grand-daughter it feels like she’s craving a loving snuggling bed time routine. She needs to feel safe, and have a calm environment to fall asleep in. Does your daughter put her to bed at the same time? Do they have a sleep routine in place?
What your grand daughter would love is to be in bed at the same time, with a nice snuggle with Mom or Dad – reading a story or having a short little bath. It also feels like lavender is a good match for her energy field. Try making some lavender tea- if she drinks it great, if not, even just the smell of it will soothe her. A lavender bath or lavender essential oils in her room will all help her to calm and relax. And it will even help the rest of you get a good night’s sleep too!
Sweet Dreams~
With love, from your Soul
Success Update: “We tried the lavender as you suggested and she went to sleep fast. In fact, she slept for 12 hours! Thank you Jennifer!”
